Firefighters are accessing the burn area of the Fern Creek fire following its complete containment Saturday afternoon.
National Park Officials said the brush fire is 100 percent contained and 75 percent controlled. This means that there are fire containment lines completely surrounding the perimeter, not that the fire is completely out or totally controlled.
The fire received approximately 0.4 inches of rain Friday. Around 130 acres in total burned since Sunday night.
Public safety and the safety of the firefighters remains the top priority of officials with the National Park. The Endless Wall Area will remain closed until the fire is completely controlled and the area deemed safe for public use.
