PINEVILLE - Authorities identified human remains found in Wyoming County earlier this month.

State police said the remains have been identified as 39 year old Theresa Lynn Ford of Matoaka. Ford went missing in 2013 and her body was found on the property of Oscar Ross Combs Senior on Bob's Branch Road in the Bud area of Wyoming County. A news conference held Friday afternoon by Wyoming County Prosecuting Attorney Mike Cochran and the West Virginia State Police, they said the skeleton remains were found buried in a shallow grave on the Combs property. Officials said they obtained a valid search warrant of the property after receiving information from within the community. The discovery was made on April 10th.Combs is currently in jail charged with murder in an unrelated case. An anthropologist from the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC had been sent to aid in the investigation. Officials said they are pleased with their success in the investigation thus far.

“They've done an excellent job with the information we've gathered thus far, but until we have all proper parties incarcerated, tried, and proven guilty in this matter we won’t rest; we'll keep moving forward,” said Cochran.

The investigation is still ongoing. Stick with Newswatch as the case develops.
