ATHENS - Concord University held a scholarship event to showcase student work and introduce undergrads to potential graduate programs.
The 7th Annual McNair Scholarship Program was held at Concord University on Thursday for any student interested. Professor of Psychology, Rodney Klein said 9 students prepared paper presentations and 113 students made posters to showcase their work. A series of speakers was also brought in to present new academia to those in attendance. Klein said students can choose to study the topic of their choice so the variety grows each year.
"This is the 7th year we've been doing it and each year it seems to get bigger and better in terms of not just the number of people participating, but also the quality of research," said Klein.
Professors said not only were the students exposed to graduate programs, but the event is a great resume builder as well.
