BLUEFIELD - A spring time expo in Mercer County spent Thursday preparing for this weekend's big event.

The 35th annual 'Better Living Show' prepares to welcome in springtime as more than 100 vendors set up tables to present their products. The Brushfork Armory was packed inside and exhibits overflowed into the parking lot of the venue. Vendors range from auto dealers to home improvement handymen to local artists selling t-shirts and jewelry. The Greater Bluefield Chamber of Commerce will host the event for the hundreds of people expected to attend. Organizers said the event grows in size and variety every year.

Co-Chair of the event, Jennifer Saddler, said "this is the time you want to start freshening up your home, cleaning up, taking out the old and in with the new and making things better in your life and that usually happens in the spring and just gives us a sense of renewal."

An 'after hours' sneak-peek is being held Thursday night. Doors officially open Friday at 10 AM and the event goes until 8 PM. Saturday's hours for the 'Better Living Show' are 10 - 6.
