Fight hunger with local food pantry

OAK HILL – For the last 31 years Fayette County locals have been feeding the needy, now you can help do the same.

The Walk Against Hunger is an effort to raise money and donations for the Oak Hill Food Pantry. Since 1983 local churches have been coming together every month to hand out grocery bags full of food to those who need it most.

They need your generosity and enthusiasm to continue the effort. Dale Gravely has been working with the pantry since the very beginning. She says your help matters now more than ever.

“We trust in the lord and he has always provided. Right now we're kind of in a down-swing because of the horrible winter we had and the need has really doubled (or) tripled.”

Walkers will start at the amphitheater in downtown Oak Hill on Saturday April 26 and cover the rail trail. Just show up to register and make a donation.
