A local community center is preparing for its monthly food drive.
The Lewis Community Center in Oak Hill set up their facility today for tomorrow's food drive. The center hosts a food drive on the fourth Wednesday of every month. All food is either donated to or bought by the center. Among the items available tomorrow are non-perishable foods, can goods and frozen chickens. Jack Crosier says the center aims at helping those who are in need.
"To assist the people that may need the assistance. A lot of our people are food stamps and at this point of the month, their food stamps are running out. There's also many people that are on fixed income and people that just need food this time of month."
The food drive takes place between nine and eleven Wednesday morning.
