The Raleigh County school board has just selected a new superintendent for the soon-to-be-vacated position.
Assistant Superintendent David Price has been chosen to fill the position, beginning July 1st. There were six candidates total. Current superintendent Jim Brown resigned in March. Brown served on the school board for 19 months and resigned for personal reasons. Newly announced superintendent David Price spoke after hearing the news.
"I think the leadership that Raleigh County at this point that, to have an opportunity to be here with great teachers, great students to provide a world class education and world class graduated to college and career ready."
"I think Dave will do an excellent job. He has a wealth of experience and I think we'll see a lot of great things happen in Raleigh County under his leadership" said Raleigh County school board President Rick Snuffer.
