TAZEWELL - A man wanted for targeting the elderly through scams is in police custody Sunday.

Timothy Dillow was captured on Ginger Lane. The Tazewell County Sheriff's Office said Dillow was wanted for a felony charge of obtaining money by false pretenses. There are five agencies seeking charges against him.

The North Tazewell man is accused of scamming people in two ways: He'll claim his car broke down and ask for money for repairs, or he'll demand money from a victim he claims to have done work for.

Authorities in Virginia said he will soon have charges for robbery after he physically snatched money from the hand of his latest victims. Deputies said his size makes him appear demanding and intimidating. They credit the apprehension to tips from the public and good police work.
