OAK HILL – An amphitheater in Fayette County is about to get lively as a concert series is about to kick off.
The Lively Family Amphitheater in downtown Oak Hill will open its first full season of events this weekend. It will open on a somber note with a Good Friday program detailing the crucifixion of Jesus.
But officials say they have plenty of light-hearted events scheduled including concerts, gospel programs, a magic show, and a dog show in the summer.
Mike Lively says the opportunity to give back to the residents of Oak Hill is a wonderful opportunity.
“The thought behind having it done was to have a family-friendly event for the city of Oak Hill and for the Plateau residents,” says Lively.
“So to see this year, being the first full year of activities, really for me is encouraging for the city.”
The Good Friday program will start at 7 p.m. Friday at the amphitheater. Events will run through December.
