OAKVALE, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia State Police say they've cited two brothers with staging cockfighting.
State police assigned to the Princeton detachment and members of the Mercer County Sheriff's Department say they responded over the weekend to an address near Oakvale after receiving a tip of cockfighting.
When they arrived, police said they found two severely injured roosters.
They cited 43-year-old Stacey Brown and 45-year-old Gilbert Brown for hosting an illegal venture. Three others were cited for attending the cockfight.
A phone listing could not be found for either Brown brothers.
