A local theater is raising money in hopes of becoming more efficient in 2014.

Theatre West Virginia held an auction today, selling off items deemed no longer needed. By selling off un-needed equipment, the theatre hopes to raise money and clear space. The theater is a non-profit organization and is currently downsizing. Owner scott hill says the money will help the theater operate and continue to be a big part of the community.

"All the money comes through the theater of West Virginia and its going to help push summer shows and the training academy to continue to work that theater West Virginia has done of the last 55 years."

Scott estimates that Theatre West Virginia brings in two to eight million dollars annually in tourism revenue.
