FAYETTEVILLE - A former Collins Middle School teacher who was behind bars after allegedly kidnapping a student is now free on bond.
Officials for Southern Regional Jail said Joshua Taylor, 30, of Weirton, is no longer in their custody.
The Fayette County Prosecuting Attorney's Office said Taylor's bond was posted in the Circuit Clerk's Office on Wednesday. It was a $60,000 surety bond.
Taylor must now follow a number of rules including avoiding contact with the alleged victim and her family, as well as having no contact with minors. If Taylor is convicted on his current charge, he would face one to ten years in prison.
Taylor's case had been bound over to the May term of the grand jury back in February.
