Former teacher arrested for having sexual relationship with a student

MARLINTON - A former Pocahontas County School teacher is arrested for sexual relations with a former student.

An investigation by State Police led to the arrest of Samantha Bartley, 25, of Marlinton on April 8th.

The charges are from a complaint made by a former student of Pocahontas County High School in 2013.

The student, who was a juvenile at the time, claims he engaged in sexual relations with Bartley while she was employed as a teacher at the school.

She faces three counts of sexual assault by a guardian, Bartley was arraigned in magistrate court and released on bond.
