FAYETTEVILLE - A family of musicians wants your help to support a local man who helped save the life of his 3-month-old second cousin.
Payton Alexis and her father, Alan Kinsler, are organizers of a weekend concert to benefit 23-year-old Mark Dick. The Beckley man is currently in a Pittsburg hospital after donating 25 percent of his liver to baby Kinzley.
All proceeds from the concert will go to Dick's personal and medical expenses. The Kinslers, who are also Dick's family members, call him a hero.
"He's a living donor and gave 25 percent of his liver to save this child's life," Alan Kinsler told WOAY. So in my opinion, that's a hero."
Alan Kinsler's daughter, Payton Alexis, will also be peforming Saturday.
"He really is a phenomenal person," she told WOAY. "I'm telling you he would do just about anything for you. I mean, he can just walk in the room and brighten your day."
The benefit concert is set for Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Fayetteville Memorial Building. Organizers said there will be concessions, music, giveaways and 50-50 door prizes.
