BECKLEY - Raleigh County Board of Education narrows its selection of candidates for superintendent.

The board met Tuesday and made recommendations to replace outgoing superintendent Jim Brown. The board discussed its recommendations in executive session. Board President Rick Snuffer says they will notify the six applicants by mail.

The interviewing will begin on the April 21st and we're told they will likely hire on that same day. Shuffer says it's not easy to hire a new superintendent to fill Brown's shoes.

"It's been a very difficult process. Mr. Brown is an excellent individual. He has set high standards for this count and he has done an excellent job in my point of view. So we want to make sure we continue those projects." - Rick Snuffer, Board President, Raleigh County Board of Education.

One of those projects such as iRaleigh will live on... A 5th grade student from Bradley Elementary presented a slideshow to the board to show off how they've incorporated iPads into their lesson plans.
