Stines case continued to fall term of grand jury

BECKLEY - The case against a Raleigh County man charged with murder following an altercation in 2013 is continued to the fall term of the grand jury. 

The Raleigh County Prosecutor's Office told Newswatch the case against Michael Stines, 46, of Eccles is bound over to the September term of the grand jury. Stines was scheduled to appear Monday before Judge Robert Burnside.

Stines is charged with murder for the shooting on Country Club drive in Beaver around 6:30 p.m. last April 18. Reports indicate when police arrived on the scene. Christopher Ward, 39, of Beaver suffered a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

Stines allegedly admitted that he was the shooter saying that he and Ward had gotten into a physical argument. Stines faces murder, use of a firearm and wanton endangerment charges.
