FAYETTEVILLE - Collins Middle School students beat out high school students in a statewide business competition.

Fayette County Board of Education recognized the eight students for their amazing feat. They stood before the board with their first place win from the state DECA competition.

The group were the only middle school students competing and Program Overseer Debbie Bush says Collins Middle "Simulated Workplace Partner" has other middle schools interested in developing a similar business plan.

"It just made me feel good that someone looked at my students and said job well done because after all that's why we do this. It was for the students and the students were the ones that needed to be in the spotlight and they earned every minute of it." Debbie Bush, Collins Middle School.
