BECKLEY - The Raleigh County Public Library is preparing for its biannual sale to benefit future projects.
Employees were busy Friday sorting through thousands of books set to go on sale Saturday. The novels are purchased from public libraries in the county and donated by residents.
Proceeds from the sale will go toward the book mobile, library furniture and parking lot repair.
Organizers have raised thousands of dollars in the past. They say there is plenty to chose from.
"Books on every subject that they can think of -- how to build a house," Joan Tomasek said. "We even have books on to how to do your surgery or things like that. We have a lot of books on West Virginia genealogy, books that people are interested in, children's books. Fifty cents for a child's book, and we have lots of them."
Adult paperback books cost $0.50 cents, hardbacks cost $1.00. The sale begins Saturday and will run through the following Saturday.
