UPDATE: Crews battle structure fire in Eccles

ECCLES - Firefighters returned to the scene of an early morning house fire in Raleigh County on Friday after flames rekindled.

Dispatchers said the initial fire started just before midnight at a home on the 4,300 block of Harper Road in Eccles. It took three area departments around three hours to clear the scene.

The homeowner said he was inside at the time but was not hurt. He thinks it may have been an electrical fire that started in the back room's attic. He said trap hill fire department returned to the scene before 10 a.m. Friday after some spots reignited.

ECCLES - Three area departments battled a structure fire in Raleigh County early Friday morning.

Dispatchers said the fire started just before midnight at a home on the 4,300 block of Harper Road in Eccles. Coal River, Trap Hill and Lester Fire Departments responded.

Crews cleared the scene at 3:12 a.m., according to dispatchers. No injuries were reported.
