FAYETTEVILLE – The deadline to register to vote in the May primary election is approaching.
Officials at the Fayette County courthouse encourage anyone not registered to do so by the deadline on April 23, which is 20 days before the election.
Just bring proof of address to the voter’s registration office at the courthouse or mail an application from wvsos.com.
County Clerk Kelvin Holliday says early voting is an option for folks who might not be interested in fighting the polls on Election Day.
“This year starts on April 30. We have three locations in Fayette County, the most central of which is at the Memorial Building here in Fayetteville. And this is a great convenience.”
Holliday says this is an off-year election and he does not expect a great turnout.
