PRINCETON - The prosecution called witnesses to the stand in Mercer County Circuit court on Tuesday for second trial of the Mercer County man accused of multiple sexual related offenses with children.

Tuesday’s witnesses for the trial against 41 year old John Daniel Spaulding of Montcalm were Kimberely Cox, who was previously convicted for her criminal activity regarding sexual exploitation of minors. Cox pleaded guilty to her involvement in 2013 and was sentenced to at least 25 years in prison. Expert witnesses for the day include 2 West Virginia State Police specialists who found and analyzed the pictures sent via text, or those found on Spaulding's computer. Jury members also listen to the testimony of the father of one of the young victims in this crime. Spaulding faces multiple charges of sex assault and sex abuse and more than 50 counts of possession of child porn.

Prosecuting Attorney George Sitler asked Cox, "Did you take those pictures after Mr. Spaulding express sexual interest in her?" Cox answered "yes, sir." Then Sitler asked, "Did Mr. Spaulding request that you take explicit pictures?" and Cox answered “yes” again.

The trial will continue throughout the week, with more testimony and presentation of evidence.
