HINTON - Increasing lake levels behind Bluestone Dam will be delayed four days to allow survey teams to map the river.
On April 4 the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will temporarily stop water flow through the Hinton dam. The survey teams will need to map the shoreline and sediment deposits above the dam.
Crews will close the gates between two and six hours. Normal flow is expected to begin again April 5.
Officials says the timing should ensure minimal impacts to aquatic species, the lake, river, recreation and wildlife.
