ELKHORN - A member of the West Virginia House of Delegates was arrested after authorities say he was spotted swerving his silver car in McDowell County.

McDowell County Democrat Clifton Moore was arrested early Saturday morning for driving under the influence along Route-52 in Elkhorn.

State Police said Moore's eyes were red and his speech was slurred. His performance on several field sobriety tests indicted he was under the influence of alcohol, troopers told WOAY. He refused a secondary breath test.

At 11 a.m., Moore was arraigned by Magistrate Richard VanDyke and released on $500 bond. He has been arrested on similar charges in Ohio.
