HUNTINGTON - Authorities tracked down and arrested a Beckley man wanted for allegedly shooting another man last November.

Rashad Morris, 22, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, malicious wounding and first-degree robbery.

Detective David Allard with Beckley Police Department said the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force in Huntington had been tracking Morris down since the shooting and found him at a house in Huntington around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The shooting happened at an apartment complex on Beckwoods Drive in Beckley during the early morning hours of November 29, 2013, according to police. Morris allegedly shot the male victim several times.

The victim has since recovered from his injuries, according to Allard. Morris should have a preliminary hearing in Raleigh County within ten days.
