Penny Browning waives preliminary hearing

FAYETTEVILLE - An Ansted woman accused of beating and robbing a man, following a drug deal gone bad, waived her preliminary hearing on Wednesday.


An attorney with the Prosecutor's office told Newswatch 21 year old Penny Browning's case will go to the Grand Jury in May. Browning and 2 other suspects face charges of first-degree robbery, malicious wounding and conspiracy to commit a felony following the incident February 22nd in the Ansted area.


Sheriff Steve Kessler said 23-year old Thomas Stull, of Saturday Road, told police he sold a 30 milligram Roxycodone pill to Browning. Stull said after selling the pill he was attacked by the group. 33 year old Mark Skaggs of Lansing and 24 year old Aaron Ray Pack both assaulted him with an ax handle and stole his money.
