Crews battle 4 to 5 acre brush fire for hours

ECCLES - Crews battled an overnight brush fire in Raleigh County for nearly seven hours.

Dispatchers said the fire started before 7:50 p.m. Monday on Stoots Road in Eccles. Trap Hill, Lester and Mabscott Fire Departments responded.

Firefighters reported that four to five acres had been burning, according to dispatchers. The scene was contained and cleared at 2:21 a.m. Tuesday.
