BECKLEY - A union in Beckley showed their support for a US representative on Saturday as they bring him in to speak to the community.
The United Mine Workers of America Union Hall hosted Congressman Nick Rahall to express their support of his campaign. About 70 people gathered to hear Rahall speak about his support for working West Virginians. Those in attendance said they know how much Rahall has done for the southern part of the state and are unappreciative of how opponents have negatively targeted the current Congressman.
One man said the only way they can truly show their support is by getting out to vote. “Nick is a great supporter of the coal industry which sustains a lot of households in this part of West Virginia. And you know, the other side attack him that he's against coal and nothing could be further from the truth,” said Wayne Rebich of Grandview.
Supporters said Rahall has had a successful 38 years in Congress and they hope to see him re-elected to continue this streak.
