PRINCETON - A Bluefield woman who pleaded guilty to a fatal shooting after a heated argument through text messages will spend more than seven and a half years in prison.

Judith Kowaleski, 43, agreed to a voluntary manslaughter charge. Court officials said Judge William Sadler sentenced Kowaleski to seven years and six months in prison.

She is charged in the shooting death of Elizabeth Slagle, 42, of Bluefield, which happened near the Brushfork community last March. Both Slagle and Kowaleski were exchanging heated text messages following an altercation between their children, according to investigators.
