UPDATE: Suspect of armed robbery at Beckley Kroger store is arrested

BRADLEY – A Parkersburg man is behind bars for an armed robbery at a Raleigh County grocery store last week.

Sergeant David Allard with the Beckley Police Department said police arrested Jonathan James Rager, 38, Saturday afternoon after they tracked him down at the Days Inn in Bradley. State Police and the U.S. Marshal's Service assisted in the arrest.

Rager went to the Beckley Kroger on Harper Road just after 9 p.m. Thursday and passed a note to the cashier that threatened he was armed with a gun and demanded money, according to Allard. He said there were two robberies of the same style last week in Parkersburg, so the Parkersburg Police Department assisted the Beckley Police Department with identifying Rager from the surveillance video.

Rager had several warrants on him for robbery, shoplifting and parole violation, according to Allard. Rager is in Southern Regional Jail on $100,000 bond.

BECKLEY - Police are looking for a suspect in an armed robbery at a Raleigh County Kroger.

911 dispatchers say the incident happened at 9:02pm Thursday, at the Beckley Kroger on Harper Road. The suspect gave the impression that he was armed with a gun and demanded money.

Beckley Police Lt. C.Ragland says the suspect is described as a light skinned black man, about 5'6 to 5'7 he was wearing a plaid shirt and brown jacket, It's unclear what direction he left in.
