FAYETTEVILLE – A former Collins Middle School teacher accused of kidnapping has his bond reduced in Fayette County Circuit Court.
The bond of Joshua Taylor, 30, of Weirton is now $60,000 with surety.
Judge John Hatcher ruled the previous $100,000 cash-only bond set by the state was unreasonable.
Taylor's attorney made the point that the previous bond was high for a charge that is not a capital crime.
If Taylor is able to post bond, he must follow a number of rules including avoiding contact with the alleged victim and her family, as well as having no contact with minors.
If Taylor is convicted on his current charge he would face 1 to 10 years in prison.
