UPDATE: Car accident involving tractor trailer causes oil spill

UPDATE: 

MOUNT LOOKOUT – A northbound lane of traffic on the Meadow River Bridge was blocked for around three hours as crews cleared the scene of an oil spill from a tractor trailer.

A tractor trailer and a car collided before 3:15 a.m. on the bridge at the Fayette and Nicholas County line, according to Fayette County dispatchers. Wilderness, Nuttall and Ansted Fire Departments responded to the scene.

Dispatchers said the accident caused oil to leak from the tractor trailer from one end of the bridge to the other. The Department of Environmental Protection and Evergeen Environmental Management responded for cleanup. The Division of Highways also responded to help keep traffic moving in the other northbound lane.

No injuries were reported.
