BECKLEY – Southern West Virginia is readying for yet another round of winter weather.
After starting the week with tempting temperatures in the 60s, more snow and freezing weather is knocking on our door.
Road crews at the Division of Highways is mounting their trucks and loading up on salt to prepare for the overnight rush. Though they suspect the impact won’t be significant.
Raleigh County Supervisor Johnny Vass says the sudden drop in temperature isn’t a major cause for concern.
“Actually the warm weather the last few days is going to help us. It heats the ground up and the asphalt so it's going to help us out tremendously.”
The DOH in Raleigh Co. will have 18 trucks out around the clock until the roads are clear.
