Sentencing continued for Mercer Co. woman who pleaded guilty to fatal shooting following text messaging argument

PRINCETON - The sentencing date was continued for a Mercer County woman who pleaded guilty to a fatal shooting after getting into a heated argument over text messaging. 

Judith Kowaleski, 43, of Bluefield agreed to a voluntary manslaughter charge. She is charged in the shooting death of Elizabeth Slagle, 42, of Bluefield near the Brushfork community in March 2013.  

Investigators said both Slagle and Kowaleski were exchanging heated text messages following an altercation between their children on a school bus. 

Kowaleski faces between 3 and 15 years in jail. Her sentencing was continued to next Monday.
