Fayetteville man arrested following domestic dispute

A Fayette County man is facing several charges Saturday following a domestic dispute in Fayetteville in the early morning hours.

Jimmy D. Blankenship, 51, was booked on two felony counts of wanton endangerment, two counts of domestic assault, one count of domestic battery and one count of discharging a gun within 500 feet of a home, according to jail officials. 

Deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff's Office responded to the home after 5 a.m. for reports of shots fired.

Blankenship was transported to Southern Regional Jail and will be arraigned in Fayette County Magistrate court. It is not known if he has an attorney.
