BECKLEY - Two Raleigh County women were arraigned in court Thursday afternoon, stemming from a stabbing Wednesday.
Raleigh County Magistrate Tomi Peck told Newswatch 31 year-old Layla Jane Hill and 30 year-old Brandi Caldwell, both of Beckley, are facing charges for their involvement in a stabbing of Natonya Mangini following a verbal altercation on Grant Street in Beckley around 3 AM on March 5, 2014. Reports indicated that Mangini was stabbed twice in the back puncturing her lungs. She was taken to Raleigh General for treatment and is expected to recover. Hill was charged with attempted first degree murder, malicious wounding, and conspiracy to commit a felony along with a domestic battery charge. She is lodged in Southern Regional Jail on $125,000bond. Caldwell faces malicious wounding and conspiracy to commit a felony charges and is in SRJ on $50,000 dollars bonds.
