FAYETTEVILLE – A mother in court on truancy charges now faces four felony counts after forging medical excuses.
Nancy Tucker-Schoolcraft, 40, of Smithers was arrested Wednesday after the Truancy Officer for the Fayette County Board of Education requested an investigation into some medical excuses.
The investigation revealed that the excuses had been created and submitted by Tucker-Schoolcraft in an attempt to avoid the truancy charges pending against her.
Warrants were then obtained charging her with four felony counts of forgery. She was arraigned in Magistrate Court and released on a $10,000 bond.
