UPDATE: One dead, two hurt in Wyoming Accident

HANOVER - One person is dead and two others are hurt following a car accident in Wyoming County Thursday.

Officials with the Wyoming County Sheriff's Department told Newswatch Tammy Hatfield, 31, died en route to Welch Community Hospital following a head on collision on US Route 52 at Ikes Fork outside of Hanover just before noon Thursday. 

Officials said the 2008 Chevy Colorado she was driving was traveling South when it went left of center then overcorrected before slamming into a 2004 Dodge Ram, traveling north, driven by Robert Roberts.

Police said Hatfield had a revoked license, and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, neither was a her passenger, Josh Payne, who was airlifted to a Charleston hospital for serious injuries.

Roberts was wearing a seat belt and taken to Logan General Hospital. The Wyoming County Sheriff's Department is continuing the investigation.

Lt. Brad Ellison of the Wyoming County Sheriff's Department tells Newswatch a woman died in route to Welch Community Hospital following a head on collision on US Route 52 at Ikes Fork outside of Hanover just before noon Thursday.

Police say the woman driving the truck had a revoked license, and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, neither was a her passenger, a man who was airlifted to a Charleston hospital for serious injuries.

The driver of the Dodge was wearing a seat belt and taken to Logan General Hospital. The Wyoming County Sheriff's Department is continuing the investigation.
