Two West Virginians dead, another injured following Tenn. car crash

BRISTOL, TENN. - Two West Virginians are dead and another is injured following a crash on the interstate in Tennessee during the weekend.

Carl Russell Osborne, 54, of Princeton and Dennis Darrell Dawson, 81, of Beckley died, according to Public Information Officer Dayla Qualls with the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security. A tractor-trailer collided with a sedan around 7 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 81 near mile marker 74 in Bristol. Osborne was driving the tractor trailer and Dawson was driving the sedan.

Dawson's wife and the passenger of the sedan, Connie Sue Dawson, was seriously injured. All three individuals were wearing their seat belts.

An incident report shows the two vehicles were traveling north when Osborne's truck struck the back of Dawson's car, causing both vehicles to cross two lanes of traffic and hit a concrete bridge pillar.
