Authorities investigate body found in Wyoming County Saturday

SABINE - Wyoming County detectives have identified the body that was found in Sabine over the weekend.

According to Lieutenant Teddy Riffe, a passerby found the body of 46-year-old Edward Lee Pennington from the Sabine around 7 p.m., Saturday evening on a dirt road in the small community near Pineville. 

Authorities responded to the scene and transported the body to the state medical examiner's office. Detectives say they believe Pennington died from natural causes. 

The incident remains under investigation pending the autopsy's results.

SABINE - Authorities in Wyoming county are investigating a body found Saturday evening off a dirt road.

Deputies at the Wyoming County Sheriff's Office confirm they cleared the scene in Sabine after investigating the discovery. 

Authorities say the unidentified man will be transferred to the Medical Examiner's Office in Charleston for an autopsy. 

It is unknown at this time if foul play is suspected. Sgt. William Toler is the investigating officer.
