OAK HILL - A man is recovering from injuries he sustained while cutting tall trees in Fayette County.
A limb landed on the unidentified man while he was topping a tree in the back of a residence on Westmoreland Drive in Oak Hill, according to officials.

First responders answered the call just after noon, and the Oak Hill Volunteer Fire Department Rope Team helped lower him to safety.

A neighbor who saw the incident says she had similar work performed at her house just last year.

“He was hanging way high in the tree like 75 feet with a big limb over his leg, and he was screaming and he was in distress,” neighbor Ginny Cracraft told WOAY.

The injured man was airlifted to Charleston Area Medical Center, but the extent of his injuries are not known at this time.
