McDOWELL COUNTY – A Southern West Virginia county hits the polls today, voting on the continuation of a long history of support for education.
Voting continues Saturday in 37 precincts across McDowell County to support an excess school levy which will fund everything from textbooks to teachers’ salaries.
If approved, the levy will continue until 2018.
Officials say voters in McDowell County have supported every levy since 1942.
Stick with Newswatch as we expect the results to become available Saturday evening.
