Tazewell officials look to restore, repurpose former train station

TAZEWELL - Tazewell officials are looking to restore and repurpose a former freight and passenger train station after recently acquiring the deed.

Town officials have created a committee to work on restoring the former Norfolk & Western Railway station in North Tazewell. Town Council member and regional historian Terry Mullins said the building is in “pretty good shape.”

Mullins said one of only two stations remaining on the Clinch Valley line between Bluefield and Norton.

The committee plans to meet in early March.
