MacARTHUR - Thousands of students across the mountain state focused on the power of technology in the classroom for Digital Learning Day.

It is all part of a national awareness campaign to improve teaching and learning for all children. A fifth grade class at Hollywood Elementary School in MacArthur showcased book report videos they edited on iPads.

Teacher Elizabeth Raney said the iPads are tools to enhance the children's education. "It gives them something else different to do than the paper-pencil way that we grew up," she explained.

Hollywood Elementary was one of four schools across the state to have a classroom take part in an online video conference with the state teacher of the year.
