UPDATE - Police said Wednesday that another store close to Ben Franklin reported a similar incident on Tuesday and now officers think they could be connected.
Fayetteville Police Chief Matt Jeffries said that a suspect was caught on surveillance cameras throwing a rock through the glass at Ben Franklin Tuesday morning. Jeffries said that suspect got away with money and merchandise.
He also said that while officers were on scene of that incident, employees from New River Antique mall, located not too far from Ben Franklin, informed police that they too were the victims of a break in. Jeffries said the suspect got away with some old currency.
"The suspect's clearly visible from the surveillance cameras at Ben Franklin," he said, "we're following up on that."
He said that they were also able to get some tracking information with the help of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department's bloodhound and forensic evidence on the scene.
