UPDATE - An inmate who escaped from the Beckley Correctional Center at 3:41 Tuesday morning is back in custody.

Frank Smith, 27,  was captured Tuesday evening. He now faces a felony escape charge. Officials with the correctional center say he is currently serving a one to three year sentence for an attempting to commit a felony conviction out of Cabell County. 

BECKLEY - Law enforcement in Raleigh County were looking for a man who escaped from the Beckley Correctional Center at 3:41 Tuesday morning. 

Frank Smith, 27, was described as a white man with strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes. Smith was 5'11" tall and weighed about 175 pounds.  He also has a scar on his left front forearm with a tattoo of stars around it.  Other tattoos included: "WV" on his throat, ace of spades, three of spades, two dice, and flames on the left side of his chest, West Virginia with bars inside on the right side of his neck, praying hands on the left side of his neck, "A" on the front of his lower right leg, a horse shoe on the front of his lower left leg, "bedseed" on the back of his left forearm, "SSDD" in a banner with a spade behind it and a bio-hazard sign with "sucker for love" on the front of his right forearm. cross on the middle finger of his right hand, block wall Chinese symbol and flames and three leave clover with 13 1/2 100% Honky Star with F W B on the front of his left upper arms, and "misbehaven" in the center of his chest. 

Officials with the correctional center said Smith was originally serving a one to three year sentence for a conviction on a attempting to commit a felony charge out of Cabell County. 

He now faces a felony escape charge.
