Family, friends and local dispatchers remember one of their own today in a special way.

26-year-old 911 Dispatcher Laura Beth Self died in a fatal car accident last week on Pea Ridge due to icy conditions. Self received an out pouring of appreciation at a moving service at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill. Pastor Larry Humphrey officiated the hour long service.

A packed house of fellow dispatchers wore black and gold ribbons in self's honor. Frank Castello says Self was known for her job and she was remembered for a job well done.

"I thought it was a very moving service. They spoke of Laura Beth's responsibilities as a dispatcher and how she carried those duties out. She was always on call. She has a very giving and loving nature."

A procession of ambulances and other rescue vehicles proceeded to the cemetary. The entombment was held at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Oak Hill.
